The very first requirement to carry out a student exchange mobility within the framework of Mevlana Exchange Program is a valid Mevlana Exchange Protocol between Anadolu University and the sending institution. The Mevlana Exchange Protocol includes different subject areas.  Students have to contact their home university’s international affairs office in order to learn if a protocol between both institutions exist and if it includes their department.

Every academic year, Anadolu University informs partner institutions about the recent call for Mevlana Exchange Program and provides them with all necessary information. The sending institution is supposed to announce the call and send us the nominations until the given deadline.

3. Application Requirements of Mevlana Exchange Program

In order to be a Mevlana Exchange Program student:

  • The students must be studying at associate degree, bachelor degree, master degree or PhD degree of higher education programs
  • Grade point average (GPA) of associate degree and undergraduate students must be at least 2,5 on a four-point scale
  • Grade point average (GPA) of graduate students (MA, PhD) must be at least 3.00 on a four-point scale
  • 50% language score + 50% GPA

The students studying in their first year at associate or bachelor degree and the students of preparation classes and scientific preparation programs of graduate degrees cannot participate in this program at their first semester.

Please note that students can benefit from the Mevlana Exchange program only one time per study cycle.

The sending university have to send us following documents within the deadline:

  • Transcript of Records (in 4-point grading system)
  • Official Language Certificate
  • Candidate Student Application Form
  • List of all applications

After the assessment of applications, Anadolu University reports the assessment results to the Higher Education Council (YÖK). The Higher Education Council is responsible for the selections of accepted students. The results will be announced after the confirmation of Council of Higher Education.

Students whose mobilities are confirmed by Higher Education Council have to submit some contractual documents. The documents should be sent by the sending institutions.

4. Contractual documents

After the final list has been announced some documents must be sent to Anadolu University Office for International Affairs via e-mail as soft copy. The hard copies have to be submitted after the student’s arrival at Anadolu University.

Selected students are supposed to submit some documents before the mobility and also during the mobility to Anadolu University Office for International Affairs.

4.1 Before mobility

  • Candidate Student Application Form
  • Student Application Form
  • Student Information Form
  • Learning Protocol*
  • Housing Application Form

4.2 During mobility

  • Student Scholarship Agreement (sets out the financial support and payment arrangements to the participant)
  • Student Declaration (Highlights the students' rights and obligations.)
  • Learning Protocol Add-delete page* (have to be prepared if the student changes the courses selected in the first Learning Protocol)

All templates are available here: http://uib.anadolu.edu.tr/en/mevlana-practical-information.

 *Learning Protocol

Learning protocol is the most important document. It sets out the study program to be followed by the student. Here you may find some more key information about Learning Protocol:

  • The amount of credit points taken at Anadolu University should be equivalent to the amount of credit points of a regular semester at the home institution.  In order to regulate the credit points, one course can be matched with more than one course but it must be clearly and understandable indicated at Learning Protocol.
  • For detailed information how to prepare Learning Protocol please download the file “Step by step LP” (http://uib.anadolu.edu.tr/en/mevlana-practical-information)

*Learning Protocol Add-delete page

  • Learning Protocol Add-delete page is an annex to the first Learning Protocol. Students only have to prepare it if they change any courses written on in the first Learning Protocol. Students have to write down which courses are deleted and which courses are added instead of them.

As soon as the documents (4.1 Before Mobility) have been completed, Office for International Affairs will prepare and send the Acceptance Letter for the exchange student.

5. Visa

Students who need to get visa must apply to a Turkish Consulate, generally the one nearest your place of residence. We recommend to apply for a visa as soon as you get your acceptance letter.

You have to apply with your "Letter of Acceptance" given by Anadolu University and other required documents to the Turkish Consulate in your country.

Please note that it may takes up to 8 weeks to get the visa. You may find Consulate information through the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs website: http://www.mfa.gov.tr.

6. Insurance

A comprehensive health insurance has to cover both outpatient and inpatient treatment, full medication for the duration of stay. Health insurance must cover the whole study period (as written in acceptance letter) and must be in English (if possible Turkish). Upon the request of the Immigration Office your health insurance must be confirmed by our office.

7. Accommodation

Our Accommodation system for exchange students works as follows: every semester Anadolu University students offer their flats to share with incoming students. According to the preferences stated in Housing Application Form we will match the exchange student with a local student. The matching will be announced approx. 3 weeks before the student’s arrival.

Immediately after matching the student will receive the contact data of the flatmate and they can get in touch. The flatmate should send the student pictures of the flat and will also inform the student about rent and other costs. If there are any problems with the flat or the flatmate we will do our best to find you a new place.

Also, the buddy student will be announced during this time. All exchange students are assigned to a buddy student. Buddy students help exchange students with travel arrangements and inform them about the university, city and the country during the whole stay. As long as the student inform the buddy student about the exact arrival date and time then the buddy student can pick the exchange student up from the train station or bus station to Eskişehir.

One other option are private Apartments: With the help of your buddy student or ESN Anadolu (official Erasmus Club of Anadolu University) you can check on internet various furnished apartment offers. We highly recommend you to see the place in person before making any payments.

8. Travel to Türkiye

For detailed information how to travel to Eskişehir download the file “Eskişehir travel guide” (http://uib.anadolu.edu.tr/en/mevlana-practical-information)
